I have prepared a new and attractive recipe for you-soy maple glaze chicken and sweet potatoes! I made a version of this for my parents, and my father said: “You have to give me this recipe.” I’m not sure if I remember the last time he asked me for the recipe (he usually relies on what they have tried and the real best Coming from love)…So I think this is a very bad good sign!
Starting to cook the chicken in a slow cooker means it will eventually become very tender, almost falling off the bones. Having said these words, you can easily mash the sweet potatoes with a fork, and the sauce can complement all the ingredients in the dishes and provide a good glaze for the chicken.
Don’t be afraid of the two tablespoons of Sriracha it asks for… After cooking for such a long time, it has become so gentle that you hardly even notice its presence! Just try it out and see what you think.

This slow cooker “Soy Maple Leaf Glazed Chicken and Sweet Potato” dishes are full of flavor. Don’t be afraid of Sriracha, because it won’t be so spicy in the slow cooker for so long.
Use kitchen scissors to cut and remove large skins from the chicken (this helps reduce the fat content in the sauce). No need to do perfect work here.
Place the chicken in the bottom of the slow cooker. Put sweet potato wedges on top.
Stir the chicken broth, syrup, soy sauce, Sriracha and salt together. Pour on sweet potatoes and chicken. Cook on low heat for 5 to 6 hours, or high heat for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is soft and almost falls off the bones.
Preheat the chicken in the oven to a high position. Remove the cooking liquid from the fine mesh strainer (from the bottom of the slow cooker) and allow it to drain about 2 cups. Skim the fat from the top and discard (if needed).
Heat butter or olive oil in a small pot or saucepan over medium heat. Whisk the eggs in the flour and cook them to help break down any clumps until they turn brown, but do not burn, for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in the cooking liquid and boil slightly over medium-low heat, while stirring occasionally, until it is reduced by half in 5 to 10 minutes, until it becomes a glaze.
At the same time, spread foil on a baking sheet and use a slotted spoon or spatula to carefully transfer the chicken and sweet potatoes to one layer (don’t let the pieces fall apart).
Pour/brush the thickened cooking liquid on the chicken and potatoes and place under the grilled chicken until it is foamy and dark brown for 6 to 8 minutes, then eat immediately.
