Easy Shrimp Tacos (and Lime Chipotle Mayo)


I used to think I didn’t like tacos! Did you know that when you eat a bowl of a dish that you would never order or cook, it is because you *think* it is not for you? Fast forward to when we were in Mexico, a friend ordered all the food for everyone, and the shrimp tacos were finally shared on the table. I’m hungry, so I put all my previous judgments aside, dug… and guessed it, that’s great! ? !

So when I asked them how they did it, I was told “soy sauce”. I thought, “It’s just soy sauce? That’s it?” Who knew that shrimp tacos can be so good and so easy!

They also topped with Mexican mayonnaise, which I included here, but if you can’t find a clean “real food” mayonnaise, I think sour cream would be a good substitute. enjoy! 🙂

Natural Foods 100 Days of Easy Shrimp Tacos

Shrimp and vegetables

  • 1 piece Tablespoon Roasted sesame oil
  • 1/2 onion, Thin slices
  • 2 pcs Bell pepper, (Any color), remove the seeds, cores and cut into thin slices
  • 1 piece lb shrimp, Peel, remove blood vessels and pat dry
  • 1/4 cup Whole wheat flour
  • 2 pcs Tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 pcs Tablespoon I am willow
  • 1/4 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes

For Lime Chipotle Mayo

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise , (If you can’t find clean mayonnaise, you can add some sour cream)
  • 1 piece Chile peppers, Chile peppers in a can of adobo sauce
  • 1 piece teaspoon Adobo sauce, From the same can of chile
  • 2 pcs teaspoon Lime juice

Recommended accompaniment

  • 8 corn cake, Shop bought or homemade
  • 12 ounce Shredded fresh cheese, (Cheese can replace Monterey Jack)
  • Lime Chipotle Mayo
  • parsley

Instructions

Shrimp and vegetables

  1. Heat the sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and pepper to the pot and cook, stirring occasionally for about 6 to 7 minutes, until tender. At the same time, coat the shrimp with flour.

  2. When the vegetables are ready, move them to the side of the frying pan to make room, then pour the olive oil and the shrimp into the pan. Cook until the shrimp is curled, the inside turns pink and the outside turns golden brown, and it is fully cooked (firm) in 4 to 5 minutes.

  3. Sprinkle with soy sauce and red pepper until it is coated and ready to eat.

Assemble the tacos

  1. Heat the tortillas in the microwave to soften them (if using store-sold ones). Add shrimp and vegetables, then top with cheese, lime Chipotle Mayo and coriander.
